Commando Joes' Fun & Fitness is an exciting new concept to help get today's ipod-wearing, Play Station-gaming young people engaged in fitness and team-building skills. Based on nearly 10 years of physical training instruction in the Army, its Director Mike Hamilton developed a range of activities suitable for all ages and abilities to ensure that no child was left behind!

Word of Mouth Associates were delighted to support this business by offering copywriting and public relations services to Mike, who is now finding that he's running around nearly as much as his young members!

Siren  is a company created by a group of budding entrepreneurs from Withington Girls School, who devised a 'survival kit' to allow women to feel safer on their nights out. The pack included a personal safety alarm and a devise to stop drinks being spiked, as part of the nationwide Young Enterprise Scheme. The group was backed by Greater Manchester Police's Crime Reduction Advisor, who also gave them a grant of over £3000 to develop the product.

A leaflet was created to promote the pack amongst other schools in the region. The team won Best Company Award in the North Manchester Area Board finals and came second in the Best Company Award in the Greater Manchester Strategic Board final. Their publicity campaign featured in many magazines, newspapers and local television.

Organised by a team of volunteers, whose backgrounds range from nurses to fire officers, the charity relies entirely on public donations to provide two camps a year for the patients who have been treated at on the Burns Unit at Booth Hall Children's Hospital. Their charity leaflet highlights the importance of the work they do, using real experiences of both the staff who run the camps and the young people who have benefited.
